About NCLL

Northern Calvert Little League (NCLL), established in 1972, is a 501c3, all-volunteer league that supports baseball and softball in Northern Calvert County.  NCLL is a recreational league that accepts all children of varying abilities and skills.  NCLL offers baseball and softball divisions for ages 4-16.  See the NCLL Constitution for more information about our governing principles.

Baseball and Softball Divisions

NCLL provides the following Little League Baseball opportunities:

TEE BALL: League ages 4-5
T-Ball is for boys and girls 4-5 years old who want to learn the
fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Players hit a ball off a
batting tee with the primary goals of instructing children in
the fundamentals of baseball and to allowing them to experience
the value of teamwork. The diamond used is a 50-foot diamond.
T-Ball is offered in Spring and Fall.

Coach Pitch: League Age 6-7
Coach Pitch division is for boys and girls ages 6-7 using a 50-foot
diamond and the pitching distance is 40 feet.
Coach Pitch Baseball is offered in the Spring and Fall.

Minors: League Age 8-10
Minors Baseball is for boys and girls ages 8-10 using a 60-foot
diamond. In 2024, we started offering 2 divisions within Minors.
AA is for mostly for 8-year olds moving up from Coach Pitch and
some 9-year olds; they pitch from 40 feet.
AAA is for 10-year olds and some 9-year olds; they pitch from 46 feet.
Minors Baseball is offered in the Spring and Fall.

Majors: League Age 11-12
Majors Baseball division is for boys and girls ages 11-12 using a
60-foot diamond, and the pitching distance is 46 feet.
Majors Baseball is offered in the Spring and Fall.

Juniors: League Age 13-14
Juniors Baseball division is for boys and girls ages 13-16 using a
conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of
60 feet, 6 inches.
Juniors Baseball is offered in the Spring and Fall.

Seniors: League Age 13-16
Seniors Baseball division is for boys and girls ages 13-16 using a
conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of
60 feet, 6 inches.
Seniors Baseball is offered in the Spring and Fall.

NCLL provides the following Little League Softball opportunities:

Ponytail: League Age 6-7
Ponytail division is for girls ages 6-7 using a 50-foot
diamond and the pitching distance is 30 feet.
Ponytail is offered in the Spring and Fall.

Minors: League Age 8-10
Minors Softball is for girls ages 8-10 using a 60-foot
diamond, and the pitching distance is 35 feet.
Minors Softball is offered in the Spring and Fall.

Majors: League Age 11-12
Majors Softball division is for girls ages 11-12 using a
60-foot diamond, and the pitching distance is 40 feet.
Majors Softball is offered in the Spring and Fall.

Seniors: League Age 13-16
Seniors Softball division is for girls ages 13-16 using a
60-foot diamond, and the pitching distance is 43 feet.
Seniors Softball is offered in the Spring and Fall.

District 7

Maryland District 7 covers all of Southern Maryland, comprised of eight (8) Little League Organizations in Calvert, Charles, Prince George's, and St. Mary's counties.  Maryland District 7 Little Leagues have over 3,000 registered players on over 240 teams, from ages 4 to 16 years old.  Maryland District 7 reports to the Little League East Region in Bristol, CT and Little League Baseball and Softball Headquarters in South Williamsport, PA.  The District Administrator for Maryland District 7 is Don Tomlinson, former Little League Coach, Manager, Board Member, and League President since 1991 in Southern Maryland Little Leagues.
